Dom Whiting’s Drum and Base Bicycle had originally been self built in a somewhat rudimentary manner until the viral campaign for the company Vuse requested a highly upgraded and more bespoke machine. We helped by stylishly and functionally incorporating all of the features he was dreaming of in the new design and went on to build the one of a kind bicycle he has gone on to use to great success.
Design
We created the design drawings enabling the client to select the route forwards they wanted to take. From this we were able to create the final design that went into production. At DEVILLE Creations we use a range of design techniques from hand sketches to computer aided design depending on the requirements of the project.
Prototype, Fabricate and Build
We started this build by initially prototyping it in cardboard, (see inset image). This allowed us to check that the lines worked asthetically and all of Dom's uprated DJ equipment fitted perfectly. Once done we produced the final unique build using lightweight swaged riveted aluminium which was perfect for this application.
